Trading Risk Challenge
How to play Trading Risk Challenge
- 1
Set up your account
Choose a starting balance, your risk per trade at full size, how many trades to play and whether risk is a percent of the current balance or a fixed amount.
- 2
Read the setup
Each trade is a real Binance chart with the entry, stop-loss and target drawn in, the EMA 50, volume and the level the stop sits beyond. What happens next is hidden.
- 3
Check the confirmations
Is the trend with you, is the level tested more than once, did the last candle confirm, is volume behind it, and is the reward at least 2R?
- 4
Choose your size
Skip the trade, half size, full size or oversized. Full size only with 4 of 5 confirmations and 2R or more, half size with 3, skip below that, never more than your limit.
- 5
See the outcome
The hidden candles show whether the trade hit its target or stop. Your profit or loss is the result in R times the money your size put at risk.
What you'll practise
- Position SizingTurn a risk percentage and a stop distance into a position size.
- R-MultipleMeasure every result in units of the risk you took.
- Risk-Reward RatioHow far the target is compared with the stop, and why it matters.
- DrawdownLosing streaks, drawdown and the maths of recovering from it.
- Stop-LossWhere the stop belongs, which sets the risk of every position.
- Win RateWhy win rate alone doesn't tell you if a strategy makes money.
Frequently asked questions
How much should I risk per trade?
Many traders risk about 0.5% to 2% of their account at full size, so a losing streak stays survivable. In the game you set that limit yourself and learn when a setup deserves all of it, half of it or none.
How do I calculate position size?
Divide the money you are willing to lose by the distance from your entry to your stop-loss. With $10,000 risking 1% ($100) and a $5 stop distance, the position is 20 units.
What is an R-multiple?
A trade's result divided by the money you risked on it. Risk $100 and make $250 and the trade is +2.5R; hit the stop and it is −1R. It makes results comparable across account and position sizes.
When should I risk less, or skip a trade?
When the setup has few confirmations or the target is too close to justify the stop. A reward under about 1.5R, or a trade against the trend at an untested level, rarely deserves your full risk.
Are the charts real?
Yes. The 328 setups are cut from real Binance spot price history (BTC, ETH, SOL, BNB, XRP, ADA, LINK and AVAX, 2023 to 2025), and each outcome is what the market really did next. The confirmations are judged at the entry, not from the result.
Why can I size a trade right and still lose money?
Because no setup wins every time. Right sizing keeps each loss to what you planned and lets good setups count for more; over many trades that is what protects the account.
