How we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use Trading Metrics.

Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Trading Metrics, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this privacy policy. Our platform is for educational and informational purposes only and does not constitute financial advice. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Trading Metrics (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you use our website and services, including our trading journal, screener, and portfolio tools (the “Services”).

This Policy supplements our Cookie & Tracking Policy and forms part of our Terms. By using the Services, you acknowledge this Policy.

Controller & Contact

Controller: Trading Metrics

Scope

This Policy applies to information we process when you visit our site, create an account, use free documentation, interact with our live chat, or subscribe to a paid plan via our payment provider. It does not apply to websites, apps, or services we do not control.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account: email address; password (stored using strong hashing and additional safeguards).
  • Trading content: entries, notes, metrics, and files you upload to the Services.
  • Support & live chat: messages and contact details you provide when you contact us.
  • Billing (future): subscription tier and payment metadata. We do not store full payment card details on our servers; payments are processed by a third-party provider.

Information collected automatically

  • Device & usage: browser type, OS, referring/exit pages, timestamps, general location (country/region), and interactions (e.g., page views, features used). Where consent is required, analytics is only enabled after you consent (see Cookies Policy).
  • Cookies/local storage: essential cookies for authentication and security; analytics (Google Analytics), advertising (Google Ads, X) and referral cookies after consent where consent is required, otherwise until you opt out; live chat storage only after you accept the provider’s rules.
  • Ad click identifiers: if you arrive from one of our ads on Google or X, the ad’s click identifier (Google: gclid, gbraid or wbraid; X: twclid) is kept in a cookie and, when you register, stored with your account together with your consent choices and your Google Analytics identifier. This only happens with your consent where consent is required (see Cookies Policy).
  • Server logs: IP address and request metadata for security and fraud prevention.

Information from third parties

  • Payment provider (future): limited billing metadata to reconcile subscriptions (no full card numbers are stored by us).
  • Single sign-on or integrations (if enabled): profile basics and tokens as authorized by you.

How We Use Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Services and features you request.
  • Create and secure your account, authenticate logins, and prevent fraud/abuse.
  • Operate analytics to understand usage and enhance performance, and measure which of our ads lead to sign-ups (both subject to the consent rules in our Cookies Policy).
  • Provide support and respond to your inquiries via email or live chat.
  • Process subscriptions and manage billing (via our payment provider).
  • Enforce Terms, comply with law, and protect our rights and users.
  • Aggregate and de-identify data for product insights and benchmarking.

How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share:

  • Service providers: hosting, security, analytics, live chat, email, and payment processing. They act under contract and process data only on our instructions.
  • Analytics and advertising partners: Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads) and X receive information about your visit through their tags on our website, to measure our ads and show them again to past visitors, subject to the consent rules in our Cookies Policy.
  • Server-side conversion reporting: when you confirm your registration or buy a plan, our servers report that event directly:
    • to Google Analytics, if you allowed analytics: a pseudonymous analytics identifier, an internal account ID, the time and, for purchases, the plan and amount;
    • to Google Ads or X, only if you came from one of their ads and allowed advertising: the ad’s click identifier, the time and, for purchases, the amount. X additionally receives your email address in hashed (irreversibly encoded) form to match the conversion.
We never send your name, your plain email address or your trading data. Automatic renewals and wallet top-ups are not reported to advertising partners.
  • Payment processors (future): to process subscriptions and combat fraud.
  • Compliance & safety: to competent authorities or third parties when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of the Services.
  • Corporate transactions: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Retention

  • Account data: kept for the life of your account, then deleted or anonymized within 24 months unless we must keep it longer (e.g., legal obligations).
  • Trading content: retained until you delete it or close your account.
  • Analytics data: retained in Google Analytics for up to 14 months (after consent).
  • Ad click identifiers and conversion records: kept with your account and deleted when you delete your account.
  • Server logs: typically up to 90 days, unless needed for security or legal purposes.
  • Support/chat records: per our and the chat provider’s retention schedules.

Security

  • Encryption in transit and at rest (where supported).
  • Passwords stored using strong one-way hashing and additional safeguards.
  • Role-based access controls and least-privilege practices.
  • Logging/monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.

International Data Transfers

If data is transferred outside your country (e.g., to the U.S. or other locations), we implement appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (and UK Addendum, where applicable) and other measures to protect your information in line with applicable law.

Your Rights

EEA/UK users

  • Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection.
  • Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time via “Your Privacy Choices” at the bottom of any page (see Cookies Policy).
  • You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (e.g., in the EEA or the ICO in the UK).

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

  • Right to know, delete, correct, and limit use/disclosure of sensitive personal information.
  • No sale of personal information for money. Our Google Ads and X tags, and the server-side conversion reports described above, may count as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out via “Your Privacy Choices” at the bottom of any page, and we treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out. To stop reports tied to an existing account, contact us.
  • Submit requests at email [email protected]. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals wherever you are.

Your Choices

  • Cookies/Analytics/Advertising: where consent is required, non-essential cookies only run after you click “Accept” on our banner. You can change your choice any time via “Your Privacy Choices” at the bottom of any page (see the Cookies Policy).
  • Live chat: tracking within the chat is blocked until you accept the provider’s rules in the chat popup.
  • Emails: you can opt out of non-transactional emails via unsubscribe links.

Payments

Paid plans are billed from a prepaid balance in your account wallet, which you fund with cryptocurrency through our third-party payment processor, NowPayments. When you top up, NowPayments handles the transaction and we receive limited billing metadata from them (such as the invoice identifier, amount and payment status) for account and fraud-prevention purposes. We do not accept or store payment card details on our servers.

Children’s Privacy

The Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page indicates the latest version. Material changes will be announced on the site or via email where appropriate.
